In Memory of Joe Houghton

On April 6th 2018 my beloved Dad lost his battle with Prostate Cancer after living with it for approximately 12 years. A course of radiotherapy and ongoing hormone treatment kept the disease and its dreadful effects under control until the beginning of 2017. Further, more aggressive, treatment was undertaken but by then his body had become weakened by the cancer spreading to his bones and lymph glands. His immune system became severely compromised and a chest infection soon became pneumonia which took his life 2 weeks later. A once proud and wonderful man who had cheated death during his service as a soldier in the Korean War, had survived a terrible road traffic accident and had survived many operations to rebuild his broken body, was taken from us by this hideous disease.
